How many companies can make an inaccurate choice, hire the wrong person and this person would cause the money tons of money loss and bad reputation? How can one control the errors that could be caused in an interview? What is the most common selection criteria for Egyptian companies? Is it based on commonly best practice methods or it is based on the employers’ personal methods?
On the 10th of January Ms. Balsam Abdel Monem discussed this topic through a new round of Competency Based Interviewing Workshop in Cairo. The workshop was organized by Just HR Training Company. Ms. Balsam Abdel Monem – 10 years’ experience in HR Management and People Development – Spoke about vital topics that are fit for recruiters and interviewees, topics like: How to get the right candidate in the right place, and how to measure his or her behavior at the interview? How to conduct a competency based interview? How to set interview questions?
Ms. Balsam is also an HR Consultant at Just HR, a Freelance HR Instructor at the American Chamber of Commerce, and she is a Certified PHR, NLP Coach and she teaches HR at the AUC. By the end of the 3 days workshop the attendees were able to know the right way to handle an interview, to deal with the candidate, how to make sure that the candidate is not lying, all this was well-practiced through role plays during the workshop.
Mohanad – Training and Development Specialist at Remedia Pharmaceuticals company had his own views regarding the workshop: “I had quite good refreshments on the recruitment part and I enjoyed how the instructor led us into a lot of discussions and debates. We exchanged our experiences through the role plays and interviewing each other.”
After attending the 7 hours daily dose that started from 9 am and ended up at 5 pm, the workshop left an inspirational effect with a permanent action plan.

The workshop hours were very relaxing. The attendees started their day with a light breakfast at 9 then a coffee break from 12 to 12:30. The lunch break was from 2:14 to 3:00. In the breaks all were socializing and talking about their work.
