A lot of employees face problems in having good relations or getting along with HR employees. This is most likely because they deal with the human resources department in a wrong way. So, in order to enhance your relationship with HR employees, here are some tips:

Don’t try to be too smart: Some employees try to outsmart HR employees so as to take more benefits. However, HR personnel will not help you in getting any benefits you don’t deserve because their job is to fight piracy.

Frequent calling: Sometimes when you need to know or request something from HR members through the phone, you start to call them too many times, over and over again! When nobody answers there might be no one on the desk or may be its break time. It would be better to try again in 15 minutes instead.

Assuming HR staff are most likely to lie: Avoid making them feel that you don’t trust them. Avoid walking around and asking the same questions to several HR employees to make sure they are telling the truth. Save your time and theirs through trust. Don’t build a bad or false reputation in their department.

Speak to them in good manners: Whenever you need anything from an HR employee, try to ask them in a good way or manner. They hate it when people speak to them in rudely, just like everyone else. Always remember: every action has its reaction.

Give them time: If you need to finish any of your documents through the HR department, don’t expect them to finish them for you the minute they receive it. They have a system and a long process of auditing and procedures to follow, they are not magicians!

Befriend them: Don’t make it only about your work and your benefits. Build rapport by greeting them or offering to share a meal together. They are, at the end of the day, humans who need to socialize and who enjoy sharing good times and good food with their co-workers.

If you follow these simple rules, then congratulations! You are really getting along with your HR department.
