About The Interviewee

Graduated from Omdurman University Faculty of Administration Science in Wadmedani in Sudan and then immigrated to the USA. Moamr returned back to Sudan and established the first School in Wadmedani.

-HR Revolution Middle East Magazine: As a school owner, part of your job is HR, how does this contribute to humanity?

Moamr Alkhwad: I contribute to the recruitment and training of a large number of teachers which helps them gain lots of new skills and find a place to practice English Language to benefit the community.

-HR Revolution Middle East Magazine: From your personal observation, what do you believe are the common challenges in today’s workplace in Sudan? How to overcome such challenges from your personal perspective?

Moamr Alkhwad: Unwillingness to develop. Encouraging and motivating employees.

Sudan is one of the countries of the third world. A fragile state, unstable politically and economically, and in recent times social and moral instability. Corruption was horribly common, where promotions and high positions in organizations were assumed by incompetent talent and unsuitable people.

To overcome such challenges you must protect yourself by working professionally and always developing yourself in order to avoid leaving a single loophole.

-HR Revolution Middle East Magazine: You were a speaker at a TEDxWadmedani Conference in Sudan, what was your talk about? How do you believe this topic can be applied on an individual and social level?

Moamr Alkhwad: I spoke about a dream that became a reality. This dream is (Wad Madani English School) the first English School in the city of Wadmedani. Every day I have been watching grow in front my eyes during the past eight years.

I established the school in order to improve English education for my children, which was not available in the city at that time and now we have (850) students and (145) employees.

After we opened, two other schools followed and the city still thirsts for more English schools.

-HR Revolution Middle East Magazine: Besides work, do you have any special activities?

Moamr Alkhwad: Germination of fruit tree seeds. It makes me feel that I am contributing to the environment in a different way and it also helps in increasing our national income.

-HR Revolution Middle East Magazine: If you can tell us in one word, what makes a TEDx talk so special?

Moamr Alkhwad: Realistic.

-HR Revolution Middle East Magazine: The meaning of leadership in organizations can change from one era to the other, how would you define the meaning of leadership in today’s workplace?

Moamr Alkhwad: Leadership is to facilitate difficulties for employees and train them to assume responsibility and take responsibility from their mistakes.

-HR Revolution Middle East Magazine: What are your suggestions to enhance Sudan’s economy?

Moamr Alkhwad: We need to have different perceptions and be able to find validation in order to follow the right concepts or make the right decisions. We need more creativity and thinking outside the box. With this we will generate new ideas, but we should empower them with feasibility studies that are appropriate to the current situation of the country to implement projects that help increase national income which could be related to agricultural, livestock production and exploiting alternative energy.
