“How can HR be involved in setting and implementing the organizational strategy?” That was the main question asked a few years ago when HR leaders wanted to prove that “human resources” as an industry can have a great return on investment (ROI) on the entire business. Today the same question is asked but in a more specific way, “How can organizations automate HR functions, so HR leaders can focus more on strategy?” Business leaders are now keen to utilize the role of their HR leaders, and the competition in the market now is not entirely about product branding, but employer branding as well.

The Human Capital Strategist (HCS) Certification Program offered by the Human Capital Institute (HCI), shares it’s know-how and original approach in empowering and implementing the corporate strategy.

During the process of strategic planning and the strategy implementation many areas of knowledge are involved such as change management, talent acquisition and onboarding, HR as a business partner, employee engagement, training and development, and defining competencies and KPI’s. However, even when each of these knowledge areas are functioning and performing according to standards and best practices, the strategy can still remain unfulfilled! The synchronization and synergy between all the sub-departments of HR and the knowledge areas in a clear and easy to implement process is key to strategy implementation success. This is the focus of the HCS Certification Program as it brings all the pieces together to form one clear image, where the role of the Human Capital Strategist is quite similar to the role of a Maestro.

The sequence of the certification program is based on HCI’s consulting tools, research results, case studies and workshops. The learning is ongoing throughout the 2-day certification program between theory, discussions, videos, sharing experiences and working in groups on different case studies.

Some of HCI’s consulting tools that are included in HCS Certification Program are the following:

HCI offers eight different certification programs, and in all the programs the participants work on practical case studies related to a project they are working on in their real lives so they can directly link their learning to practice and implementation. This practical approach makes it much easier for learners and organizations to see a quick and tangible ROI on their daily work right after they finish the course.

After finishing the online course, participants will have direct access to take the certification exam anytime within six months through their HCI online account. After passing the exam the participants receive their digital certifications, along with 13 business recertification credit hours towards aPHR™, PHR®, PHRca®, SPHR®, GPHR®, PHRi™, and SPHRi™ recertification through the HR Certification Institute & 13 Professional Development Credits (PDCs) toward SHRM-CP℠ or SHRM-SCP℠ Certifications.

HR today is different than HR a few years ago. HR today needs more Human Capital Strategists who can transform, sustain and lead the business while partnering with their employees.
