When talking about development and progress secrets, we have to mention the great effect of sharing knowledge and information with others. We also have to acknowledge that we are not living alone on isolated islands away from each other. We have to be sure that we, as skilled individuals, are completing each other, and that by sharing information we all win and we will reach the level of success we all are dreaming of for our organizations and our country.
All people dream to live or work in a well-developed country and they ignore their role in this development and how they are supposed to be a part of it. It is just like a puzzle, each one is a part in it, and if we all combine well the picture will look perfect. The problem of not sharing knowledge is that some people think if they tell or help others by easily giving them information, they will not be serious and they will be lazy, always waiting for others to help, they will not be keen to search and work hard to get the information and as people say; easy come easy go. Also, because they spent such a long time gathering the information and studying it, it becomes very hard for some people to give others the information just like that on a silver platter. Others fear that if they give information to people these people might eventually be better than them and then they in turn will become useless.
I agree that we should not spoon-feed people, but we can guide them to the right direction, we have to tell them how and what to search for, not to leave them in a maze. Make sure that everyone you meet knows something you do not know so the result of sharing will enrich everyone with more knowledge. Through training and teaching, your information will be more rooted in your mind and you will be more motivated to know more and study more, and in doing this you will have reached a win-win situation. Do not be afraid, no one is going to be better if you are frequently increasing your knowledge. By sharing knowledge, you are easily becoming a more dependable leader. In addition, you help in spreading the mentality of cooperation, the trained one will train new trainees, and it will become a cycling chain.
Seeing the big picture and putting the public interest before our self-interest will lead to success of our organizations and therefore our country.
