During the Covid-19 pandemic lockdown, many HR experts and consultants started their live sessions to share their experiences in different industries with young professionals. The intention was to guide them on how to deal with the increased uncertainty by developing their resilience. This encouraged me to delve more in Human Resources, training and development, performance management, strategic thinking, and other fields.

There was an urgency to study an organized and comprehensive curriculum in HR that can empower me with solid knowledge to start a professional career in HR.

With a specific goal in mind to get introduced to scientific methodologies and approaches applied in HR by top-performing organizations around the world; I found all I needed in the curriculum of the Associate Professional in Human Resources– International™( aPHRi™); dedicated especially for entry-level HR juniors without prior experience!

I started taking the first steps of figuring out a new plan for my self-development, and as a content marketer and strategic thinker, who is always doing a lot of research to compare various materials and courses to get the best out of what is available in the market, and to be able to understand the big picture without missing the depth of information I’m seeking, I found that the aPHRi certification meets, but even exceeds my various expectations and needs of having distinctive knowledge and learning experience all in one!

The aPHRi is an International Certification provided by HRCI, paving the way for young professionals and leaders to start with sound background their initial steps in the HR field.

In the beginning, I thought that the HRCI provides certifications only for experienced practitioners through the PHRi, SPHRi, and GPHR, but I was delighted to know that the “aPHRi” is tailored to my current needs, and opens for me the door to start a professional career in HR.

Holding an international certification in HR from HRCI is a reflection of devotion and commitment to high-quality education for the sake of making an impact in Human Resources management.

I believe that the aPHRi Certification “is an International Certification tailored to the next generation of rising stars in HR

aPHRi curriculum is designed by international thinkers, experts, and consultants in HR and learning and development which gives me confidence that the certification will help me find the correct guidance in the field, in both the scientific and the practical aspects that I do need.

The certification is dedicated to those who want to embark on the HR professional career whether they are undergraduates, fresh graduates, or career shifters as it doesn’t require minimum years of experience but also, in my opinion, if you are a Project Manager, or if you are building your own startup, aPHRi will be an essential guide for you for “people management”.

What does aPHRI cover in-depth?

The preparation material is for the areas that you should cover well for the exam, it consists of 5 modules about the essential HR functions:

  1. Unit 1: HR Operations
  2. Unit 2: Recruitment and Selection
  3. Unit 3: Employee Relations, Health, and Safety
  4. Unit 4: Compensation and Benefits
  5. Unit 5: Human Resource Development and Retention

What I liked most in the preparation material is that it demonstrates the full cycle of the HR functions processes, and it also covers the updated and basic theories and models in HR.

It includes, in addition, a sound explanation for data management, employer branding, and other trending topics and issues in HR, demonstrating for learners then, the past and current practices to get a full picture of HR science and techniques so that they can relate the knowledge provided directly to their work in various kinds of organizations and industries.

When I was reading about the aPHRi certification and its requirements, I was  relieved  on how to prepare for the exam and get certified.

On the HRCI website, there are different preparation material bundles available that includes exam preparation questions that are very useful for self-assessment to know where you stand your level of understanding to decide when you are ready to enter the exam.

Another facilitation provided by HRCI, they go the extra mile by providing the chance to take the exam  safely online from anywhere.
