Why study a CIPD qualification? I asked myself this same question back in late 2019/early 2020, and I’m sure many of you are thinking the same now.

I remember very clearly it was a Friday afternoon and I was having an in-depth conversation with my wife. I’m lucky to have her as she is not only my friend but my coach, counsel, and wise advisor. I told her that I wasn’t satisfied with the finance world anymore and was looking for a change. That’s when she suggested I’d be good at working with people, so I started to do some research based on what I like to do and what I don’t like to do.

This was about the same time the COVID-19 pandemic would start its sweep through the globe and, unfortunately, about the time I left my well-paid finance job as well.

You can imagine I was going through a lot was going at the time, unsure of what my next steps should be. After a lot of soul searching and further conversation with my wife, however, I decided that I liked the sound of human resource management (HRM), but I noticed almost all HRM roles would prefer that you be CIPD qualified.

With that being said, below I review my top 6 reasons why I believe you should study a CIPD qualification this year.

1. CIPD is internationally recognised in all industries

2.

3. CIPD boosts your earning and career opportunities

I wanted to enhance my earning potential as well as be professionally recognised and CIPD offers the chance to have both with a CIPD qualification – and much more.

Adding that you’ve been studying a CIPD course to your CV makes it stand out and greatly enhances your chances at higher earnings.

In today’s day and age when everything is getting difficult within the job market, it’s more important that we invest in ourselves to upskill so that we can stay ahead of the game.

4. CIPD empowers you with a high level of knowledge and industry skills

Just like the way we all try to keep up to date with the latest gadgets, HR professionals need to stay up-to-date with all the HR news, events, challenges, and trends. This way we can deliver for our organsations as well as our clients.

At the end of the day, we as professionals want to deliver the best we can and for that to happen we need quality knowledge. CIPD does this in bucket loads and more. You’ll learn so much and start to look at HR management in a multidimensional way.

You’ll learn all the best practices which in turn will help you thrive.

5. CIPD is incredibly flexible

This means you can fit in your CIPD studies around your busy lifestyle.

I’ve never known a professional course so flexible and completely remote-based as CIPD. Although please note this is the way I wanted it to be, and I’m aware CIPD can be amended as per the learner’s availability.

This flexibility, however, means that CIPD can be studied anywhere and at any time. You could be part of a live classroom, or live webinar, or watch the recordings later on, You have all the learning materials available to you and it’s just a matter of working through them.

6. CIPD is cost-effective
